Taira Shinken
Taira Shinken, actually Maezato Shinken (Japanese平 信 贤, born June 12, 1898 in Nakazato on the island Kumejima ( Okinawa ), † 1970) was the last great, undisputed master of kobudo.
Life
Shinken amassed the old Kata and modified it slightly to create a unified system. Finally, he codified the Kobudōausbildung total. He created his own synthesis of kobudo combat systems. Taira Shinken is still the great authority of the Kobudo is, and many of today's masters as Okinawan Japanese, refer to him.
