Taiwan saddled carpetshark

The Taiwanese Teppichhai ( Cirrhoscyllium formosanum ) is a real one shark from the family of the collar carpet sharks. He lives to Taiwan in the Pacific Northwest.

Features

The species is very elongated and slender, and reaches a length of 39 cm. She wears barbels on the neck and six darker saddles on their backs. The saddles in the amount of the abdomen are oval, extend to the dorsal fin. The mouth is in the eyes. She has 159-167 vertebrae, the tail vertebrae 112 to 117

Way of life

The Taiwanese Teppichhai lives on the continental shelf on the bottom at depths of about 110 m. Little is known about his diet. He is oviparous and harmless to humans.
