Tajna Tanovic

Tayna Tanovic (* in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina ) is a German actress and singer-songwriter. She has worked over 20 years in the performing arts, including Sarajevo, Ljubljana (Slovenia ), Germany and New York City. Currently she lives and works in Los Angeles.

Beginning of the artist's career

Tanovic played Liza Minnelli in " Cabaret Children " for the National Television in Sarajevo. From 1993 to 2004 she worked as the lead actress of the theater TAS in Germany and played in the project 3, with guest performances in theaters such as the Munich Chamber matches, Hamburg's Thalia Theatre and Cankarjev Dom, the Culture and Congress Centre in Ljubljana, Slovenia. In 1994 she was nominated by the State of North Rhine -Westphalia for the prize for best young artist for her role of the girl in Project 3. One of the performances with Theater TAS was her performance at the UNESCO Charity Gala for Children in Need 1993 in Dusseldorf and an appearance in the German Bundestag on Human Rights Day 1998.

New York

Tanovic played the lead role in the project of Canal Street Station 31 Down Radio Theater. They participated in the experimental dance film Waterfront Access? of Floanne Ankah. In April 2009, she collaborated with Theater TAS and the award-winning writer, director and PEN American Center member, Kaca Celan, in New York City and produced the showcase performance and visual art installation Yard Sale: New Footfalls ..., presented by the arts organization chashama. Tanovic has also the piece New kicks (New Footfalls ) translated into English. Yard Sale 2010 was: New Footfalls ... presented by the DUMBO Arts Festival. In the same year she played the lead role in the theater production TAS The Last Story ( The last story ), the award-winning play by Kaca Celan. She has worked with the production company Dalzell Productions on several projects.

Singer- songwriter

Tanovic held two concerts (2001, 2003) to the summer festival of the Nobel laureate Heinrich Böll in his house in Langenbroich, Germany. She was lead singer of the band Love in Shakespeare, which set to music Shakespeare's sonnets. She wrote the music for the short film Dolly Belle (2009), as well as the melody in the performance Yard Sale: New Footfalls ... Your Songs I Think of You and Hey! Hey! were presented in the theatrical performance Mirjana and Those around her from MGL Theatre Ljubljana ( Slovenia).

I Think of You

On September 30, 2011 they brought their debut EP I Think of You with five original songs out: Mount Everest, 75 Degrees Sunny Chances of Rain In The Rainy City, Burning House, and the title song I Think of You. The album was recorded in the Bunker Studio in Brooklyn, it was written and produced by Tayna Tanovic, produced and mixed has sound engineer John Davis, mastered by Randy Merrill master disc production manager was Jack Sharkey. As a musician can be heard Tayna Tanovic - Lead & Backing vocals, acoustic guitar, piano and percussion, John Davis - E- and double bass, keyboards, piano and percussion, Aaron Nevezie - electric guitar and glockenspiel and Dave Burnett - drums and percussion. In September, 2012 the music video was released for the title song I Think of You. She wrote the screenplay and Samuel Nozik ( Bones - The Knochenjägerin ) directed. The two have collaborated on Tayna Tanovic short film Dolly Belle. Scenes from the film can be seen in the music video by Burning House.
