Takashi Amano

Takashi Amano (Japanese天野 尚, Amano Takashi, born July 18, 1954 in Maki, Nishikambara -gun (now Nishikan -ku, Niigata ), Japan ) is a Japanese photographer, designer, author and aquarists. He has specialized in the photographing aquariums.

Amano is one of the most influential people within the aquarium and much coined the Nature Aquarium. To him is due that the Japanese garden art asserted itself as a design element in the planting and design of aquariums. Typical of him are asymmetrical arrangements of aquatic plants with stones and tree roots. He draws on design elements of nature.
