Takayuki Matsumiya

Takayuki Matsumiya (Japanese松 宫 隆 行Takayuki Matsumiya; born February 21, 1980 in Akita ) is a Japanese long-distance runner. From 2005 to 2009 he held the world record in the 30 - km road race.

In 2000 he won the Ōme Marathon over 30 km in 1:31:18 pm About the same distance he presented on 27 February 2005 in Kumamoto 1:28:00 h with a world record, by 20 September 2009 the split times by Haile Gebrselassie and Samuel Kiplimo Kosgei over 30 km at the Berlin Marathon was undercut. Shortly thereafter, he was ( as in 2003 ) Second at Japanese companies championships in the half marathon.

In the half- marathon world championships 2005 he finished eleventh and won the bronze medal with the Japanese team. In Chiba, he was part of a marathon relay, which established on 23 November 2005 with a time of 1:58:58 h the valid to date Asian record.

Matsumiya is 1,63 m tall and weighs 49 kg. He starts for the team by Konica Minolta. From 2006 to 2008 he was a Japanese master each over 5000 and 10,000 meters. His twin brother Yuko Matsumiya is also successful as a long distance runner.
