Take Me with U is a song by Prince from 1985; it appeared on his album Purple Rain and was released as the final single from the album. It is a pop-rock song, which strikes primarily for his drums and electric guitar solo by Prince.

Background

The song is a duet with Apollonia Kotero and was supposed to appear on their album Apollonia 6, but ultimately opted for Purple Rain. The song Take Me with U shows a gentler side of Prince and was his first official duet. The original version of the song is a minute longer than the single release, but the version of the single release is preferred by most fans. On the B - side track is Baby I'm a Star, also included in the album. The song reached number 25 in 1985 in the American Billboard Hot 100 and # 7 in the UK charts.
