Takis Koroneos

Panagiotis Koroneos (Greek Παναγιώτης Κορωναίος, born October 8, 1952 in Rethymno ) is a retired Greek professional basketball player and coach. With eleven won championships he's with Fragiskos Alvertis by Dimitrios Kokolakis the most successful player of the Greek league.

Playing career

Koroneos began his career at Panathinaikos, where he was under contract until 1985 and next eleven championships sometimes won the Greek Cup Team three. After one season at PAOK Thessaloniki he ended his active career at Panionios Athens.

National

His debut with the Greek national team was Koroneos in a game on July 25, 1972. 70:69 With a victory over Bulgaria him get it 22 points. In the following nine years he was an integral part of the Greek selection and took part in a total of three European Championships. His last game he gave on October 29 in 1981 in an international match against Poland. His greatest success with the national team was winning the gold medal at the Mediterranean Championships 1979.

Coaching career

After his active career as a player Koroneos first took over as coach in a number of amateur club. His later professional stations include GS Marousi, AO Dafni Athens, Niar Is and the ladies department of Panionios Athens.
