Takitarō Minakami

Minakami Takitaro (Japanese水上 滝 太郎; orig. Shozo Abe (阿 部 章 蔵), December 6, 1887 in Tokyo, † March 23, 1940 ) was a Japanese writer, critic and playwright.

Minakami was born as the fourth son of Taijiro Yasuda, the founder of the life insurance Meiji Yasuda Seimei Hoken. Like his father, studied Takitaro at Harvard University in the United States, completed his studies in Economics and traveled a long time in Europe. In his novels, such as Osaka no yado he described mainly the lives of employees ( sarariman ). He created 1918-1939 Essays published under the title Kaigara tsuihō.
