Takt time

Cycle time is in the production economy the average time in which a unit leaves a production system. More precisely defines the REFA Association:

" Clock time - also known as stroke or stroke - is the time in which one unit is completed, so that the flow system provides the desired amount of power "

Example: The customer wants 480 parts. A layer has 8 hours. Each of the 480 parts would result in a shift (8 hours = 480 minutes ) s are a maximum cycle time of 60 available to meet the customer's requirements.

In an ideal production line would be the period between completion of two parts. In reality, one has to interpret the production line at a cycle time longer than 60 s to compensate for fluctuations in capacity, equipment failure, maintenance, etc. can.

As part of the clock tuning or performance tuning one tries to distribute the work content so that the work contents are as uniform as possible in all workplaces of the work system.
