Taktser

Taktser is the Tibetan name of the village Hongya ( Hongaizi in the local dialect ), which the community Shihuiyao forms of the Hui Nationality along with 13 other villages. Shihuiyao located in Ping'an county, which belongs to the administrative district of Haidong Qinghai Province in the People's Republic of China. Despite its been around for centuries Chinese-speaking area include the area to the Tibetan cultural region of Amdo. Taktser is located approximately 50 km south-east of the Buddhist Kumbum monastery and about 20 km southwest of the large village of Ping'an, where the seat of government of the district of the same is.

As village Taktser has therefore become famous because here the 14th Dalai Lama was born. In that time the village was called Qijiachuan, which means " flow of Qi family". The latter was the Chinese clan name of the Dalai Lama's family.
