Tamara Mellon

Tamara Mellon, OBE (born 7 July 1967 London) is the president and co-founder of the shoe company Jimmy Choo.

Life

Tamara Mellon was born in London, the daughter of Tom Yeardye, an entrepreneur, and Ann ( Davis) Yeardye, a former model for Chanel. She received her schooling in Heathfield School, in Beverly Hills, and in Switzerland.

Mellon began her career at Phyllis Walters Public Relations, followed by a stint at the U.S. women's magazine Mirabella, and his activities as an editor at Vogue for accessories. There Mellon realized the potential for the development of a quality series for designer accessories, especially shoes and bags, and went to Jimmy Choo, a cobbler for custom-made shoes, too.

With an initial fund of £ 150,000, which she received from her father, founded in 1996 with Mellon Choo Jimmy Choo Ltd the company. The new brand quickly became very successful and is now sold in various individual boutiques and in upscale department stores. 2007 appeared Mellon on the Sunday Times Rich List in 2007, where she appeared with a fortune of £ 99 million at No. 751. In spring 2010, Mellon was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire ( OBE) because of their services to the British economy. Private life

In May 2000, she married Matthew Taylor Mellon IV, an heir of the Mellon dynasty, with whom she has a daughter. The couple divorced in 2007.
