Tambo Machay

Tambomachay ( Bath of the Inca ) is a water sanctuary in Cuzco Inca times. There, the water flows in channels with four terraced levels. For the natural rock was trimmed and incorporated artificial masonry. Several niches in the rock cause the water to the fountains.

A Quechua Legend of the effect of three small streams: one Drink from the stream bottom right, so should one of them are younger, we drink from the stream bottom left, so you will have twins, and the upper watercourse is to have a blessing effect.

This artificial system shows the respect that the Inca had for nature, but also the mastery over them.

A farming village about 10 km away also bears the name of the temple ruins.
