Tambores

Tambores is a city in Uruguay.

Geography

It is located on the territory of the two departments Paysandú and Tacuarembó in their sector 6 and sector 2 Tambores is located north of Piedra Sola. To the east rises near the village of Arroyo Malo.

History

On October 15, 1963 Tambores was raised by the law Nr.13.167 in the status of "Villa ".

Infrastructure

Tambores is located on the railway line Montevideo - Tacuarembó - Rivera.

Population

For Tambores 2011 1.561 inhabitants were counted in the census in the year, of which 786 male and 775 female. 450 ( 232/218 ) lived in Tacuarembó and 1.111 ( 554/557 ) in Paysandú. 2004, there were 1,720 registered inhabitants (540 in Tacuarembó, 1180 in Paysandú ).
