Tanahmerah Bay

The Tanahmerah Bay ( Indonesian: Teluk Tanahmerah, " Red - floor bay "; Tanahmerah English Bay, or Tanah Merah Bay ) is a bay on the north coast of the island of New Guinea. The bay is located in Indonesian West New Guinea in Papua province, approximately 50 km northwest of the provincial capital of Jayapura ( Hollandia ).

During the Second World War, American troops landed there as part of Operation Reckless.
