Tanja Fajon

Tanja Fajon ( born May 9, 1971 in Ljubljana) is a Slovenian politician ( Socialni democratic ).

Fajon earned a Bachelor of Marketing in non-profit organizations as well as in journalism at the University of Ljubljana. Then it was Master in International Politics at the College for Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Paris-Sud and the CERIS in Brussels. She first worked as a journalist and editorial assistant at Radio glass Ljubljane and as a journalist and reporter for the daily newspaper Republika. In 1995 she transferred to RTV Slovenija, where she was from 2001 to 2009 EU correspondent in Brussels. Since 2009 she is a member of the European Parliament.

Activities as an MEP

Fajon is in the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists & Democrats in the European Parliament and is a member of the following committees Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and the special committee on organized crime, corruption and money laundering. As deputy Fajon is in the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Delegation for relations with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo
