Tannensee

The Tannen is a reservoir in the Urner Alps. It is located in the Swiss canton of Obwalden in the community core. The result of 0.33 km ² lake is by a 1958 finished Erdschüttdamm, the dams from the east flowing down streams.

Location

The lake is located east of Melchsees. The Melchsee facing the dam. The lake is located in a rather flat mountain valley, almost on the saddle for Gental. On the north bank a road leads along the third order, which serves as the access road from Melchsee - Frutt to firs. On the southern shore, a dirt road, which opens on both sides in the access road runs. Adjacent mountains are in the north of the 2441 meter high Hohmad, in the east of Tearing Nollen with 3003 meters, the 3042 meters high up Wendenstöcke and in the southwest, the Glogghüss rises ( 2534 m). The nearest major town is a good 12 line kilometers south west of Meiringen in the Aare valley.
