Tanya Grotter

Tanja Grotter (Russian Таня Гроттер ) is the female protagonist of a Russian novel series by Dmitri Jemez ( Дмитрий Емец ). Jemez describes his books as " cultural response" to the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling.

A Dutch translation of Tanja Grotter and the Magical Double Bass in 2003 prohibited the court after the author Rowling had sued for copyright infringement. Attempts of the Russian publishing house and Jemez to determine the works as legitimate parody failed.
