Tariku Bekele

Tariku Bekele ( born January 21, 1987 in Bekoji ) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. He was 2008 World Indoor Champion and won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in 2012.

Life

The younger brother of Olympic champion Kenenisa Bekele has a steep climb to the world class behind. 1999 Tariku had started running in elementary school. He was admitted to a development project for young people in 2002. Already at the end of Tariku was celebrated in his homeland as the future course Hope Ethiopia.

He won the first major success then a year later at the Junior World Championships. In the 3000 - meter race, he won the silver medal.
