The TATA Steel Stadion (until 2009 Sportpark Schoonenberg ) is a football stadium in the Dutch municipality of Velsen Velsen- Zuid in the district, province of North Holland. Since 2009, the stadium is named after the Indian steel company Tata Steel.

History

The stadium was built in 1948 has 3,250 seats and is used by the team of Telstar and the women's football team AZ Alkmaar. During restoration in 1999, only minor works were carried out. The venue will be gradually restored in the next few years. In 2009, Zwarts & Jansma architects designed by grandstand was completed with 1,463 seats. The locations of the two-storey building will be covered by a tent membrane that is stretched over a wooden support structure. In the basement are, inter alia, to Offices, changing rooms and medical treatment rooms. Upstairs are two separate lounge areas with large windows that offer a good view of the pitch. Opposite the main stand is the covered east stand with seats along the game field. The North and the Südrang behind the gates with their standing, will no longer be used, since they no longer meet today's demands for comfort and safety.
