Tatjana Lematschko

Tatjana Lematschko ( born March 19, 1948 in Moscow) is a Bulgarian and Swiss chess player of Russian origin.

Life

Tatjana Lematschko learned the rules of chess by her older brother in the Soviet Union. She attended the chess section in the pioneer house in the city Izmail and took part in the Ukrainian Youth Championships. At the same time she trained as an athlete. In 1966 she began her studies at the Central State Institute of Physical Culture in Moscow. With Burewestnik she won in the team trophies sports associations of the USSR in 1968 and 1971. 1970 she won the first Soviet Women's Cup before Maaja Ranniku.

Then she played from 1974 to 1982 in Bulgaria and now lives in Switzerland. Tatjana Lematschko won a total of five times, the Bulgarian Women's Championship ( 1974, 1975, 1978, 1979 and 1981). Due to its international success in 1977, she received the title of FIDE Grand Master of the women ( WGM ). In the years 1984, 1986, 1995, 1997, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010 she also won ten times the Swiss Women's Championship.

Candidates Tournaments

Several times she was involved in the candidates tournament for the World Cup of women. In 1976 they reached the Interzonal in Rozendal (Netherlands) the divided 3 / 4 Place and subsequently lost the candidates match against Elena Ahmilovska. In 1979 she won the Interzonal in Alicante (Spain ), and then they lost in 1980 in Odessa in the quarterfinals against Marta Litinskaja. Chess Olympiads

At the Olympic Games 1974 in Medellin ( Colombia), she won, as well as the team the bronze medal. For Switzerland, it took between 1984 and 1998 in Salonika in Elista continuously to the Olympiads, and later again in 2004 in Calvia and 2008 in Dresden.

Other tournaments

Major tournament victories won Tatjana Lematschko 1974 in Plovdiv, 1978 in Pernik, 1980 in Băile Herculane, 1981 in Plovdiv and in the same year a second place in Budapest.
