The Taum Sauk Mountain with its 540 meters, the highest elevation of the Iron County and the U.S. state of Missouri. It is located in the Saint Francois Mountains and near its summit is a viewing tower, called Taum Sauk Lookout Tower. At the top of the survey, a granite slab is located, which serves the purpose of a summit cross. A few kilometers to the west is the Taum Sauk pumped storage plant.
