Tautoro ( Māori: forward stretch ) is a village in the Far North District in the Northland region of the North Island of New Zealand. It is located about 8 km southeast of Kaikohe and running there State Highway 12 Closest settlements are Punakitiere Valley to the east, Awarua in the South, and Te Kirikoe Iriga in the West. The town lies on Punakitere River, a tributary of the River Waima.

The town's economy is dominated by agriculture and forestry.

The Tautoro School is a co-educational primary school for grades 1-8. She had a decile rating of 1 in 2009 and 89 students. The school was established in 1906.
