Tayyare Apartments

Harikzedegân is a former residential community in Turkey. The plant was the first social housing project in the country and consisted of four six- storey blocks in neoclassical style with courtyards and a total of 124 residential units. Harikzedegân means " fire victims " and was built for the victims of a conflagration in Istanbul in 1918. The facility was built in the years 1919-1922 in Istanbul's Old Town, near the Laleli Mosque. The architect was Kemalettin Bey. The condominium was the first all-concrete construction in Turkey. After completion, the plant of the Turkish airline was passed and is therefore under the name " Tayyare apartments " ( "Aviation apartments " ) known. In the 1980s Harikzedegân was converted into a luxury hotel.
