TCDD E43000

The E 43000 of the Turkish State Railways series (TCDD ) is one designed by the Japanese company Toshiba Electric Locomotive.

Specifications

Overall this type were built from 1987 45 copies at TÜLOMSAS (Türkiye ve Lokomotif engine Sanayii A.Ş. ) and delivered to the TCDD. The weight of the locomotive is 120 tons with a length of 14.94 m, the performance of the six motors is total 3180 kW. So you reach a starting tractive effort of 275 kN. In the original painting the locomotives have a light blue roof and a medium blue frame, the locomotive body is white with diagonal stripes in two shades of blue.

Use

The locomotives were initially intended for heavy freight on routes Haydarpaşa - Eskişehir and Divriği - İskenderun and only for a maximum speed of 90 km / h.

Due to a shortage of electric locomotives for express trains, particularly in connection with the electrification of the Eskişehir - Sincan (Ankara ) in 1992, several locomotives but received a new transmission, which allows a top speed of 120 km / hr. The previously white cab doors of the aircraft were painted red with new gear for distinction.
