TE Connectivity

TE Connectivity, a former division of Tyco International Ltd.. which was known under the name of Tyco Electronics, is an international company with U.S. roots and headquarters in Schaffhausen in Switzerland as well as major administrative centers in Berwyn, Pennsylvania.

Core activities of the Group are the fields of electronic connectors, network technology, underwater telecommunication systems and wireless systems. The Group develops, manufactures and markets products for customers in the automotive sector, as well as in aerospace, defense systems, telecommunications, computers and consumer electronics.

TE Connectivity has approximately 96,000 employees and reported 2008 global revenues of 14.834 billion U.S. dollars. The shares of Tyco International Ltd.. are listed on the New York Stock Exchange and were represented by 25 June 2009, the stock index S & P 500.

History

In April 1999, the Company acquired Tyco Electronics AMP Incorporated. At the same time, Jürgen W. Gromer Chairman of Tyco Electronics, after he was senior vice president of Worldwide Sales and Customer Service at AMP since 1998.
