The Te Waewae Bay is the westernmost of three large bays which form the coast of Foveaux Strait on the part of the South Island of New Zealand. The other two are Oreti Beach and Toetoes Bay. The bay is 27 km long. The West End is the mountainous end of the Southern Alps and Fiordland National Park.

The small rural settlement Orepuki lies on the cliffs at the eastern end of the bay, dominated by forestry community Tuatapere, 7 km north of the bay on the shores of the Waiau River, which flows into the bay.

The Te Waewae Bay is a station of the Southern Scenic Route.
