Teclu burner

The Teclu (named after its inventor Nicolae Teclu ) is a small gas burner, which is used for heating in the chemical laboratory. It sucks as that used Bunsen burner according to the principle of the jet pump to the combustion air, but differs by the type of air supply and the shape of the burner tube (chimney ): When Teclu the air is introduced from below into the fireplace. The tube is widened conically downwards and has a larger diameter. In this way, a more intensive mixing of the gas and thus a higher flame temperature is achieved. The gap for the air supply can be increased by a horizontal rotary knob under the conical extension of the chimney or reduced ( up to total closure when the rotary knob, cone completely closes ).
