Tečovice

Tečovice ( German Tetschowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers west of Zlín and belongs to Okres Zlín.

Geography

Tečovice is located in the western foothills of the mountain country Vizovice the transition to the Upper Moravian Valley ( Hornomoravský úval ). The village is located on the right side of the Dřevnice along its tributary Hostišovka. To the north rise the Vinohrádky (301 m ) in the east of Díl (273 m), southeast of the Tlustá hora ( 458 m) and the Šternberk (345 m) and in the northwest of the Havránkov (252 m). To the west of the village lies the valley of the Racková. To the north is at the Vinohrádky a sports airfield. South leads the railway line Otrokovice - Vizovice through the valley of Dřevnice; the nearest railway station Zlín - Malenovice is one and a half kilometers from Tečovice.

Neighboring towns are Lhotka in the north, Chlum in the northeast, Prštné and Louka in the east, U Majáku and Březnice the southeast, Malenovice in the south, and Kvítkovice Otrokovice in the southwest, Bahňák in the west and Buňov and Sazovice in the northwest.

History

Archaeological finds evidence of a settlement in the municipality since the Paleolithic. The first written mention of the village Cetisouicih took place in 1141 in a directory owned by the Olomouc Bishop Heinrich Zdik among the goods of the Archdiocese Přerov. At the transition from the 12th to the 13th century insisted on the grounds of the church protected by ramparts fortified settlement. The next documentary tradition dates from the year 1307. Teczowicze At this time formed an autonomous government, whose owner was the Vladike Bun by Tečovice. In addition to the festivals of the Lords of Tečovice there was a church that has been built according to archaeological findings in 1260. As part of the Association of dominions Tečovice and Malenovice Teczowicze 1350 was subservient to the castle Malenovice and the festivals Tečovice went out to the end of the 14th century. In 1356 the city was designated as Tetcowycz. The owner of the domain changed frequently. On August 11, 1470 King George of Podiebrad encamped during the Bohemian- Hungarian War in Tetczowicz. The place name Tetczowicze has survived from 1492. After the abolition of patrimonial Tetšovice / Tetschowitz formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Uherské Hradiště. As of 1881, the village was called Cetišovice, the current place name Tečovice was introduced in 1924. For installation of the Okres Zlín in 1935 the community was associated with this. Tečovice was incorporated in 1960 after Gottwaldov and dissolved on 24 November 1990 by the city, which now again bore the name of Zlín, go.

Since 1992, the municipality performs a coat of arms and banners. It shows on green field two silver spurs that symbolize the Vladiken of Tečovice. The shell refers to the local saint and church patron.
