Ted Schroeder

Fredrick Rudolph " Ted" Schroeder Jr. ( born July 21, 1921 in Newark, New Jersey, † 26 May, 2006 La Jolla, San Diego, California ) was an American tennis player.

Career

Schroeder won the men's singles at Wimbledon in 1949 and reached the same year as the doubles final. At the U.S. Open he won in 1942 and 1940, single, 1941, and 1947 in doubles. In addition, Schroeder was from 1946 to 1951 for the United States in the Davis Cup active. In 1966, the induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
