Tefal

Tefal S.A.S. based in Rumilly at Annecy in France is a manufacturer established in 1956 for cookware and small domestic appliances belonging to the global Groupe SEB since 1968.

Name

The name is an acronym of Teflon and aluminum. Tefal in Europe was the first manufacturer of pans with non-stick coating and a global pioneer in the marketing of Teflon-coated cooking utensils to end users.

History

Grégoire engineering Marc 1954 developed a method (PTFE) applied on aluminum wheels Teflon. With his wife, he presented from 1955 Teflon - coated aluminum pans in her homework and drove them to the chef. The Teflon coating improves the properties of Pans: fried food can be better solved from the pan bottom and the cleaning is easier. The business of the pans was so successful that in 1956 the company Grégoire Tefal founded and began to produce industrially coated pans.

In the following years the brand grew steadily and has since also in the field of small electrical appliances, scales, and pressure cookers active. In 1968, the Groupe SEB, the company and led the Tefal brand.

Tefal is (120 countries) represented worldwide. The focus of sales is in Europe.

Marketing

For the marketing of individual product lines Tefal SEB collaborates with celebrity chefs. So advertises the English chef Jamie Oliver since 2004 for high quality products, such as the " Jamie Oliver Professional Series by Tefal ". Tefal and Thomas Bühner developed the Thomas Buehner Induction series.
