Tell Abu-Hawam
Tell Abu - Hawam is an archaeological site in northern Israel.
Location
Tell Abu - Hawam is located in the city of Haifa, in the valley of Jezreel at the mouth of the Kishon into the Mediterranean. The estuary has been altered tremendously by the construction of industrial and commercial facilities as well as roads since the 1980s, the excavation site now forms an "island" surrounded by highways and industrial buildings.

Excavations were carried out, among others, in the 1930s by RW Hamilton and 1963 Emmanuel Anati.
The Tell mainly contains layers of the Late Bronze Age, which are stated at 1300-1180 BC. Benjamin Mazar assumes that the settlement was established under Seti I (1291-1279 or 1289-1279 ). and served as a port for the Jezreel Valley. From layer V scarabs come in fact with the inscription of Amenhotep II, whereas Egyptian pottery is not available.
North of the village is a cemetery of the Late Bronze Age II, containing Mycenaean and Cypriot imports.
History
Weinstein (1980 ) is due to finds of later SHIIIA goods and even of not inconsiderable quantities of goods SHIIIA2 the foundation of the settlement already in the late 14th century The SHIIIA and IIIB pottery comes after analysis of the clay from the Peloponnese ( Asaro / Perlman 1973).
The destruction of traces in construction layer Va ( to Hamilton ) are either Ramses II ( 1276-1270 BC) or a campaign of Seti I. ( 1289 or 1287 BC) attributed.
