Temel Kotil

Temel Kotil ( born December 3, 1959 in Gündoğdu, Rize, Turkey) since 2005 CEO of Turkish Airlines.

Life

Kotil completed in 1983 a study of aviation and aerospace engineering at the Technical University of Istanbul ( ITÜ ). In 1986 he acquired in the United States specializing in aviation and aerospace engineering diploma at the University of Michigan. Here he also received his second diploma in Mechanical Engineering - Engineering and laid in 1991 before his doctoral thesis.

From 1991 to 1993 he was the founder of the laboratories at the Faculty of Aeronautics and Space Technology at the Technical University of Istanbul. In the years 1993-1994 he was Deputy Dean of the Faculty.

After working in 2001 in Illinois as a visiting professor and later in New York at AIT Inc. as Head of Research and Development, he became head of the research, planning and coordination of the transport network line true in the Metropolitan Municipality of Istanbul.

In 2003, he began his career at Turkish Airlines ( THY) as Deputy Technical Director. In 2005 Kotil was appointed Turkish Airlines General Manager.

It was in 2006, board member of the International Air Transport Association ( International Air Transport Association - IATA) and in 2010 to the Board of the Association of European Airlines ( Association of European Airlines - AEA) elected.

He is married and father of four children. Kotil is a member of the Turkish Mechanical Engineering Society and a member of the "Board of Governors " at the International Air Transport Association since 1991.

On 1 January 2014 Temel Kotil was elected president of the Association of European Airlines.
