Template:Music
Benefit
Accidentals / sign
It ensures the correct display of Unicode characters for crosses, ( ♯ ), Be ( ♭ ) and natural sign ( ♮ ) in certain versions of Internet Explorer that would otherwise be shown as empty rectangles. The font selection also improves the representation in other browsers such as Mozilla Firefox on Microsoft Windows. See the table below to compare the representation result in the browser used by you.
The template uses SVG to double -b ( ) and double crosses ( ) represent, as the corresponding Unicode symbols are little support.
Examples
Be
{ { Music | flat } }, { { music | b }} or { { music | ♭ }} gives ♭ { { Music | double flat } }, { { music | double - b} }, { { music | bb }} or { { music | 𝄫 }} results in
Resolution characters
{ { Music | natural } }, { { music | aufloesung }} or { { music | ♮ ♮ yields }}
Crosses
{ { Music | cross } }, { { music | sharp } }, { { music | #} } or { { music | ♯ ♯ }} results in { { Music | double cross } }, { { music | double sharp } }, { { music | # #} } or { { music | 𝄪 }} results in
Notes and Rests
Note: Some browsers support ♩ ( ♩ ) and ♪ ( ♪ ) for quarter and eighth notes, but since the representation is often ugly and ( non- support ) with any of the other matches scores or breaks, this template does not make use of these two characters.
Note that there is no graphical distinction between violin and G- key, nor between soprano, alto, tenor and C keys, and between Bass and F keys. The distinction is maintained for the conceptual difference, and to achieve different captions for screen reader.
