Template:Taxobox

A Taxobox is in an article about a taxon ( = a systematically recognized and named animal or group of plants or plant or animal species ) a table of information for systematic classification and subdivision. Taxoboxen should only be created for recent, but not for extinct species. Article entries for species only in nacheiszeitlicher time - (~ Holocene ) So in the last 10,000 years - have become extinct, are an exception to this rule. Records the species and higher taxa that became extinct before that date (fossil taxa ), are instead provided with a Paläobox. Viruses, however, should be provided with a Virobox.

Taxoboxen only be created for real taxa. Animal groups, which are named due to external similarities, without the associated representatives are related to each other, will not get any Taxobox. Taxa that occur in older classifications are based on current knowledge but outdated, also will not get any Taxobox. Even in articles on domestic animal breeds or plant varieties no Taxobox is installed. For breeds there is instead a Infobox dog breed, plant varieties, an information box variety.

For some areas (eg, plants, fungi, bone and cartilaginous fish ) is checked the consistency of the specified in the Taxobox higher taxa through the Taxobot and adjusted if necessary.

For Rausschnippeln

Unnecessary lines and comments should be deleted after the merge in an article to not unnecessarily inflate the source code and to facilitate subsequent edits. Missing values are automatically hidden or covered with meaningful default values. More rarely used parameters that are missing here are carried out in the document below. Please set also commented-out first line, so that later editors know where to find information about the template!

Taxon_name

This is the German -language name of the taxon. Usually it should be identical to the title of the article. example:

Taxon_name = pelicans If there is no German name, but only a science, this field should be left blank. If there are several German -language name, only the most common is mentioned; in the article itself all the synonyms should be available.

Taxon_WissName

This is the scientific name of the taxon. Note that for genera and all ranks below ( subgenus, species, subspecies, etc ) the scientific name is automatically set in italics in the Taxobox. It is therefore not necessary '' Anas platyrhynchos '' to write, but just Anas platyrhynchos. example:

Taxon_WissName = Anas platyrhynchos A special feature are intermediates such as sections or varieties. There are the parts of the name, which actually should not be italic, italic to set. example:

Taxon_WissName = Lilium wallichianum '' var '' neilgherrense If there is no trivial names are and the lemma of the article corresponding to the scientific names (ie also that taxon_name not indicated or is indicated empty), is used for genus and ranks among automatically the lemma, so the page title shown on the article, in italics.

Taxon_Rang

The rank of the taxon has in classical systematics. If the item is a species describes write article he describes a plant family, write family. Alternatively, the scientific names of ranks can be specified.

When using the template for Paläoboxen it may be desirable in principle to suppress the display of the ranks. For this purpose, the parameter rank oppression = yes set.

In some cases it may happen that a taxon is assigned a rank in the classical system. For example, are the seals between the family and superfamily and have even no rank. In such a case, just wear a unranked.

Examples:

Taxon_Rang = phylum Taxon_Rang = root Taxon_Rang = unranked If the field is left empty or missing it, the rank is not displayed. However, this should be made as far as possible only at the highest taxa.

Taxon_Autor

Example:

Taxon_Autor = ( [ [ Carl Linnaeus | Linnaeus ] ], 1758) TaxonX_Name

Fields Taxon2_Name, Taxon3_Name, Taxon4_Name, Taxon5_Name and Taxon6_Name stand for the five immediate parent taxa are available, and indeed for the German -language name. Again, if there is no German name, is to release the field, and evidence is the TaxonX_WissName field.

The content of this field is automatically linked in the output. This is omitted only if the TaxonX_Autor field is filled, because it is then assumed that the parent taxon has not have its own article.

Examples:

Taxon2_Name = Pelecaniformes Taxon3_Name = Birds TaxonX_LinkName

This field belongs to TaxonX_Name or TaxonX_WissName. As mentioned, the content of TaxonX_Name is automatically linked. In some cases this can lead to a disambiguation page. Then enter (example):

Taxon2_Name = alder Taxon2_LinkName = alder ( Botany) The parameter can also be helpful if a name is so long that it would inflate the width of the Taxobox:

Taxon6_Name = Three furrows pollen
dicots Taxon6_LinkName = Three furrows pollen dicots Another way to set this field is "no." Thus causes the indication

Taxon2_LinkName = no that is set no link for Taxon2_Name.

The TaxonX_LinkName field usually refers to TaxonX_Name. But if TaxonX_Name is empty, it refers to TaxonX_WissName. Then simply a reference target for the scientific name can be defined in the absence of a common name.

TaxonX_WissName

Fields Taxon2_WissName, Taxon3_WissName, Taxon4_WissName, Taxon5_WissName and Taxon6_WissName include the scientific names of taxa listed in Taxon2_Name to Taxon6_Name.

The content of this field is then linked automatically in the output if the corresponding field TaxonX_Name is empty.

Examples:

Taxon2_WissName = Pelecaniformes Taxon3_WissName = Aves TaxonX_Rang

Taxon2_Rang, Taxon3_Rang, Taxon4_Rang, Taxon5_Rang and Taxon6_Rang each contain the rank which is assigned to the taxa in the fields Taxon2_Name to Taxon6_Name. See taxon rank for more details.

In addition to the ranks mentioned under Taxon_Rang here is yet another possible: The rank Incertae sedis means " unknown assignment ". When it is used, may be used for the same level can not be used in the fields TaxonX_Name, TaxonX_WissName and TaxonX_Autor.

Examples:

Taxon2_Rang = order Taxon3_Rang = class TaxonX_Autor

For the four direct parent taxa there is the possibility to nominate their own author citation ( Taxon2_Autor, Taxon3_Autor, Taxon4_Autor and Taxon5_Autor ). As a rule, nothing should stop here. Only if a taxon and its parent taxon are identical in scope, should something be entered here. Example: The ostrich is the only species of the genus ostriches and ostrich family. In Taxon2_Autor Taxon3_Autor and therefore to the describer of the genus or family be entered.

Only in this special case, the field may be occupied. In most cases, it remains empty. This is important because, depending on the field takes place, the linking of the higher taxa. Is this TaxonX_Autor field occupied, the template assumes that an individual does not exist and suppresses linking. For information regarding the correct assignment see taxon author.

Image

This is the name of the image, without "Image: " before it. Note that in a Taxobox only one image can be and should! example:

Image = Torrent Duck - Torres del Paine NP - Chile.jpg If you specify no, the image is omitted along with the caption, the same is true even if the "image" field is missing or remains free.

Image = without image description

This is the descriptive text that appears below the image. If the image description is omitted, but a picture is available, the combination taxon_name ( Taxon_WissName '' '') is entered automatically. If you want to add may no image description, write without. Examples:

Image Description = [[ Pink-backed Pelican ] ] ( '' Pelecanus rufescens '') on the Nakuru - Lake Image Description = without subtaxa

Optional: This field accepts in the conversion to lists of subordinate taxa. For new plants, its use should be avoided, the list of subordinate taxa is to be accommodated in the text.

Example:

Subtaxa = * Turtles ( Testudinata ) * Crocodiles ( Crocodylia ) * Schnabel heads ( Rhynchocephalia ) * Squamata ( Squamata ) Subtaxa_Rang

In the event that a list of child taxa is called here whose rank is entered. What can be entered here, is described taxon rank.

Since only one may be entered, it is not possible to show more than a subordinate rank in the Taxobox. In a family article therefore can not be listed as subtaxa the genera and species.

Example:

Subtaxa_Rang = family
