The Tondeswaram Temple is located at the southernmost tip of Sri Lanka, at Dondra. He is one of the five ancient Shiva temples in Sri Lanka. The temple was excavated in 1998 and rebuilt by Hindus. Actually this area is purely Sinhala Buddhist. According to the archaeologists located on the original site of the temple now a Buddhist shrine.
