Tenero-Contra

Tenero is a municipality in the district Navegna, in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. Tenero located on the shores of Lake Maggiore. Above Tenero in the Val Verzasca is the Lago di Vorgorno. The Verzasca also flows through the village.

Because of its location at the junction of the Magadino level in Lake Maggiore a camping center with seven campsites has developed here along the lake. Next to it is a big center for school sports activities. This sports center was used by the German national football team as a training venue during the 2008 European Football Championship.

By rail, the community is developed through the station Tenero on the railway line Giubiasco Locarno: Swiss Federal Railways (SBB ).
