Tequesta is a municipality in Palm Beach County in the U.S. state of Florida with 5,629 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Tequesta is the northernmost municipality of Palm Beach County and the metropolitan area of ​​Miami. It is located about 25 km north of West Palm Beach. The municipality is crossed on a common route of U.S. Highway 1 and the Florida State Roads A1A and 5. In the north the municipality borders on the Martin County and south to Jupiter.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 5,629 inhabitants distributed to 3,257 households. The population density was 1250.9 inh. / Km ². 95.8 % of the population were white, 0.6 % African American, 0.1% Native American and 1.3% Asian Americans. 1.1% were members of other ethnic groups and 1.1% in different ethnic groups. 6.1% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

The crime rate in 2010 was 147 points ( U.S. average: 266 points ) in the low range. There were three rapes, nine injuries, 23 burglaries and 68 thefts.
