Tersamisch is the most easterly of all Sami languages ​​and thus belongs to the Uralic language family. Today, there are perhaps two active Tersamischsprecher on the Kola Peninsula in the north- east of Russia. About 20 people have language skills at different levels. Language is not only in danger of extinction but also relatively poorly documented and described.
