Terminologia Esperanto-Centro
The Terminologia Esperanto -Centro (TEC ) is the terminology center of the Universal Esperanto Association ( UEA ). It was initiated in 1985 by the UEA and officially established in 1987.
History
In the 1950s, the International Esperanto - Science Association ( ISAE ) and the Academy of Esperanto ( " Academy of Esperanto " ) had established a terminology center, Rudolf Haferkorn initiated. 1970 took over Rüdiger Eichholz the task. The images -Duden was translated into Esperanto Through his work and using about 200 of Esperanto professionals.
Objectives
The main objective of the TEC is the coordination in the field of Esperanto terminology. Since the Esperanto speakers are scattered throughout the world, this is done nowadays, especially via the Internet. For example, the website offers information for the TEC Esperanto professionals who have the goal to write even one - or multi-lingual Esperanto specialized dictionaries ( UEA maintains a list of all published Esperanto specialized dictionaries from 1980).
Cooperation
Through the Universal Esperanto Association TEC works indirectly with international organizations such as the International Organization for Standardization and the International Information Centre for Terminology ( Infoterm ) in Vienna ( as an associate member).
Events
Lately no organized by TEC meetings have taken place.
