Tero Järvenpää

Tero Järvenpää Mikael ( born October 2, 1984 in Tampere ) is a Finnish athlete.

Järvenpää occurs for the Tampere Pyrintö / Mizuno Track Club in the javelin. The Vice European Junior Champion of 2003 won the silver medal at the 2005 Summer Universiade in Izmir; he stood at 79.61 meters one meter behind the Latvians Ainārs Koval. At the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 Järvenpää finished with a throw over 75.21 meters to eighth place. With 82.10 meters Järvenpää was re- eighth at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka in 2007. His compatriot Tero Pitkämäki won the competition.

In 2008 he joined before the Olympic Games in Beijing at the IAAF Golden League with podium finishes strong and stood 27 July 2008 in Tampere with 86.68 meters on his personal record. In the Olympic final, he was with 86,16 m fourth. He was to the last passage behind Andreas Thorkildsen from Norway and Pitkämäki on the bronze medal before the Latvian Ainārs Koval with a throw over 86.64 m Bestweiten Pitkämäkis and Järvenpääs exceeded.

Tero Järvenpää is 1.88 meters tall and weighs 95 kg. In 2008 he won the Finnish championship in the javelin. By 2011, he also won three silver and two bronze.
