Terrain: loenhart & mayr is an architectural and landscape architectural firm based in Munich.

History

The office terrain: loenhart & mayr was founded in 2003 by Klaus K. Loenhart and Christoph Mayr.

Klaus K. Loenhart studied architecture at the University of Munich and practiced at Herzog & de Meuron. At the Harvard Graduate School of Design in Cambridge ( USA), he studied landscape architecture and design history and theory, and gained his first experience in teaching. In 2006 he was appointed Professor and Head of the Institute of the Technical University of Graz.

Christoph Mayr studied interior architecture at the University of Applied Sciences Rosenheim, then architecture at the University of Munich. Prior to the establishment of terrain: loenhart & mayr he worked for Uwe Kiessler and in several partnerships.

Projects

  • 2006-2008 Olympic Hill, Garmisch- Partenkirchen design and planning of the ski jump, Aufsprungbauwerk and outdoor facilities
  • 2006-2007 Werkbundsiedlung Wiesenfeld, Munich in collaboration with Bernd Kniess architects urban planners
  • 2005-06 Hellabrunn Zoo: orang -utan outdoor enclosure, Munich in cooperation with Mayr Ludescher
  • 2005 TÜV SÜD, a prototype for the testing of future
  • 2005 Exhibition Pavilion for the 2005 National Garden Festival, Munich

  • 2008 PAVOREAL Development: World Heritage Graz, 3rd Prize
  • 2007-2008 Olympic Hill Garmisch -Partenkirchen, 1st prize
