Teshie

Teshie is a place east of Accra in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. Teshie is considered as a suburb of Accra and is located on the exit road from Accra to Tema. In the vicinity of the Teshie Coco Beach is white sandy beaches. Many people live on fishing. In Teshie is one of the centers of the coffin art. Here work known coffin makers who offer the special wishes of customers a wide range. Who wants to be buried here in a fish coffin, this gets as well as a small plane and of course less fancy variations.

Fort Augusta was built in Borg Teschie by the Danes in 1787. Between 1870 and 1957 Teshie was occupied by British Fort Augusta Borg.

Today is the national officer candidate training school in Teshie and the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre ( KAIPTC ). Culturally Teshie for his drum school has become known.
