Test in Swedish for University Studies

TISUS (Test i svenska för universitets -och högskolestudier, Test in Swedish for University and higher education ), is a standardized Swedish language test. In terms of design and function, it is the English TOEFL similar. Most foreign applicants must TISUS exist to begin at one of the Swedish universities and colleges to study allowed. Exchange students who complete only part of their studies in Sweden, the test usually do not need to store.

Application and implementation

Registration for the TISUS is chargeable. Currently (March 2010), the fee for the whole test in 1600 Swedish crowns, for a part test 600 crowns. The test is carried out on seven Swedish universities and university places and at some German universities, usually twice a year, in May and November.

It consists of three parts:

  • Läsförståelse ( reading comprehension )
  • Skriftlig färdighet ( written skills)
  • Muntlig färdighet ( oral skills)

The implementation of the first two parts are handwritten. The oral part is a conversation in which one or two auditors with several specimens talk about a given topic that the participants have been set a few days earlier in knowledge. Reviewed is not the factual knowledge of the specimens, but whose language skills.

Result

As a result, there are the notes godkänd (passed) and underkänd ( failed). Finer gradations are generally not performed. However, as a supplement to the testimony, the specimens will receive a breakdown of how they fared in the various parts; in each part are a maximum of five points (ie 15 in total) to achieve, of which one must receive three, so that the part in question is deemed passed.
