Tetricus II.

Tetricus II ( † after 274) was 273/274 under Emperor of the Gallic Empire.

Life

Tetricus II was the son of the same name Tetricus I, the last emperor of the Gallic Empire Special ( Gallic Empire ). His full name was Gaius Pius Esuvius Tetricus. Both his year of birth as well as his mother's name is unknown. In 273 his father raised him to Caesar and gave him the title of princeps iuventutis. On January 1 274 he began ( with his father ) his first consulate in Augusta Treverorum (Trier), the capital of the Gallic Empire Special build.

After the defeat of the troops of the Gallic special Empire against the army of the legitimate Romkaisers Aurelian at Chalons- sur -Marne in late summer / early autumn of 274 (which marked the end of the Gallic special Empire), he was brought together with his father in Rome during Aurelian's triumph. According to all available written sources but his life was spared (like his father ) of Aurelian. Aurelius Victor and the Historia Augusta even report that he had been charged by Aurelian in the senatorial class. About his life nothing is known.
