Teva sandals

Teva is an American manufacturer of outdoor shoes, in particular (sports) sandals.

The company was founded in 1982 as a one-man operation by Mark Thatcher, a rafting guide on the Colorado River. The marketing legend after Thatcher is said to have first searched for a solution to its own problem: constantly wet feet. He is supposed to have it developed the prototype of a practical sport sandal that can be easily used on and in the water and at the same time to offer a high wearing comfort. To this end, he set a variety of plastics, which performs traditional materials such as leather completely replaced and has patented various details such as the so-called Universal Strapping System in lightweight jacquard fabric with Velcro strips. The idea was successful and Thatcher expanded in the next two decades worldwide. Teva is a trademark of the U.S. footwear manufacturer Deckers Outdoor Corporation in Goleta. For the German distributor is responsible since 1993, the Tatonka GmbH in Dasing.

The term is borrowed from the Hebrew Teva, where the word " natural " means. As a company name, this name symbolizes the connection to nature.

Teva products are made of modern materials such as Lycra, nylon, neoprene, Microban, multi-density or dual density EVA, spider, River Rubber etc..
