Thadée Cisowski

Thadée (actually Tadeusz ) Cisowski ( born February 16, 1927 in Laskow, Lublin Voivodeship / Poland, † 24 February 2005 in Charnay- lès -Mâcon, Saône -et -Loire ) was a French football player of Polish descent.

The club career

Thadée Cisowski was considered as one of seven siblings in 1933 with his parents in the Lorraine ore basins ( Pays- skin) and started at age 14 to work in a mine underground. He also played in the local U.S. Piennes football, the same club where a few years later, Roger Piantonis career began. 1947 undertook the FC Metz striker, who made quickly attracted attention because of its distinctive Torriechers and his shot power: in his first four games in the highest French league of young professional scored three goals and was in his second year as a regular player. In Metz, he remained for five years ( including one year in the Division 2 ) and quickly made unwelcome acquaintance with the often very rustic agents, which made use of opposing defender: in the season 1951/52, he failed due to a broken leg, which he to himself his had ( after only ten minutes against Austria ) suffered first use in the national team, only deny 17 point games, but scored 11 goals in it still.

In 1952 he moved to the capital club Racing Paris, and only here, his abilities fully deployed because the club - apart from a descent along with one-year interlude in the second division (1953 /54) - in those years always landed on a digit place in the table. These Cisowski has contributed significantly: 1956 (31 goals), 1957 ( 33) and 1959 ( 30), he won the top scorer in Division 1, was also second in 1960 ("only" 27). This season featured the attackers of racing on (besides the Cisowski were particularly Ujlaki and Topka ) with 118 goals in 38 league matches a league record, which still exists today. That was enough but only for the third place in the table, and there is a certain tragedy is that this superior scorer throughout his career never became champion of France and also the National Cup could not win - in Paris as little as before in Metz or subsequently at U.S. Valenciennes, where he 1960/61, was still playing and the relegation end of the season. After last year's second division FC Nantes Thadée Cisowski ended his professional career and returned to his adopted home in Lorraine, where he still scored many a goal in the amateur field.

Among the less pleasant memories of his active time includes the 37 serious injuries, including two broken legs and several meniscus surgery that affected his career over again.

Cisowski died a few days after his 78th birthday after a long illness " in the anonymity of a small Burgundian village ".

But the World Cup finals he had to do without: a broken leg in the season 1957/58 prevented its safe appointment to the France squad. Cisowskis pitch was the happiness of the young striker Maryan Wisnieski, who also had Polish roots. His second (1952, a goal in the 3-1 ) and his last international game ( 1958, 2-2 ) played " Ciso " way against Germany.
