Thayaht

Thayaht the stage name of the Italian painter and sculptor Ernesto Michahelles was ( born August 21, 1893 in Florence, † April 29, 1959 in Pietrasanta).

The neoclassical U.S. American sculptor Hiram Powers was his great-grandfather.

Michahelles moved in 1918 to Paris, where he studied painting at the Académie Ranson and the fashion house of Madeleine Vionnet met on the Rue de Rivoli, for which he designed a logo.

In 1919 he designed the futuristic garment Tuta, which he made with the help of his brother RAM ( Ruggero Alfredo Michahelles ) known. During this time Ernesto changes its name to the palindromic pseudonym Tayat (later. Thayaht. ).

After a solo exhibition in Florence Thayaht went in 1920 to study in the USA ( Harvard ).
