The 1 Second Film

The 1 Second Film is a non-profit and community film project that aims to raise funds for the Global Fund for Women.

The name arose because the film is exactly take a second. It consists of twelve, painted by many people, large single images, filmed, are shown in rapid succession. The end credits of the film, however, be 90 minutes and include a making-of.

Any interested person can buy a nomination as producer uncredited for a donation of a dollar. In August 2007, we already have over 7700 producers had participated. The makers of the film were able to gain some well-known Hollywood stars for their project, among others, Kevin Bacon, Pierce Brosnan and Kiefer Sutherland.

From September 2007 to November 2007, the makers of the film planned a trip in a converted school bus across the United States to make their project better known. Furthermore, they hoped to obtain a symbolic donation of one dollar for their project at the end of this trip by Oprah Winfrey.

The idea for The 1 Second Film is from a student project a Nirvan Mullick from the California Institute of the Arts, who also acts as director of the film.

After the premiere, it is planned to auction the twelve frames. All profits from the film to get the Global Fund for Women.
