The Applejacks (UK band)

The Apple Jacks was a British beat band that mattered in particular the mid-60s as one of the most successful British groups.

History

The group played in 1960 as a school band together. In 1964 their first single. The school principal should have asked then given the choice to opt for either the music or the school - they chose the former.

They had a plump, attractive Liverpool sound that was somewhere between Gerry & the Pacemakers and Peter & Gordon. They used songs that were written by well-known composers who had this but never put on vinyl for their singles. For example, the John Lennon / Paul McCartney composition " Like Dreamers Do" or " I Go To Sleep " by Ray Davies.

The Apple Jacks held in the British charts throughout the 1965 round up, but were shortly afterwards already almost been forgotten. Your last single was released in early 1967 on CBS.
