The Back Horn

The Back Horn is a Japanese rock band, founded in 1998, whose music style is based on J-Rock.

Band History

The band was based around April 1998, when all the founding members for different reasons from rural areas came to Tokyo. At first they called themselves Gyorai (鱼雷, dt " Torpedo " ), then the name was changed to The Back Horn.

Following its premiere at the Fuji Rock Festival in 1999, they released the mini-album Doko e Iku the record label Kando Records. Seven months later, they released their first full-length album: Yomigaeru Hi. She then signed a contract with the label Speedstar Records. Although they had a contract, they often described themselves as indie band. At this time decided Hirabayashi, to leave the band.

Following the release of her first album at Speedstar Records, Ningen Program, the band Okamine Kohshu found a new bassist. However, this did not become a member immediately. However, he was involved in recording the next album Shinzō Orchestra and on the tour was the band announced that he was now a full member.

While the band was becoming increasingly popular, they got the request to record the music for two movies, Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Bright Future for Kazuaki Kiriya's Casshern and. In the meantime, they recorded the album Ikiru Saino and published it.

After a few tours, a performance at the Rock In Japan Festival, a few singles and their first live DVD was the fifth album of the band, Headphone Children, which is often referred to as a concept album, released. The song Kiseki from this album was used in the horror film Zoo. After the tour following the live album Ubugoe Chainsaw has been published. Two months later, the group met for the first time in Europe, at a festival in Barcelona.

The band then released several singles and gave some shows, including an acoustic tour with Yamada and Suganami, where they played to bring to the streets of Japan with no entry costs. In April 2006 came their sixth album Taiyo no Naka no Seikatsu to market.
